What is BE THE ADVENTURE?
It's an immersive game. Each adventure is different. This is NOT a computer game- it is a live-action adventure. Your team (usually two players) arrives at the location of the game via plane, train, or automobile. If you don't drive, you must rent a car - you'll need transportation for the adventure. Part of the fun is not knowing exactly what each adventure involves. So some of the descriptions explaining this will be a little vague. It's kind of like your own real life "Choose Your Own Adventure." You will visit interesting places, follow clues, interact with characters (played by actors or other players), and ultimately BE THE ADVENTURE. It's been compared to the movie "THE GAME" (but it's safe) and the t.v. show "THE AMAZING RACE." |
How does it work?
Each adventure usually starts with a Welcome Dinner where you get your instructions, meet other players, and get a feel for the adventure. You will get clues, a map, or some kind of direction as to what to do next. |
What does the fee cover?
Each adventure is different. You should check the order form for the specific adventure or check the Pricing page for the current adventure. In most cases the fee covers the adventure, lodging, and some of the meals. |
What should we bring?
Other than the obvious things you would pack when going on vacation (clothes, toiletries, cash, your ID, etc.), you should also bring a handheld GPS unit, a flashlight, a digital camera, comfy shoes (for light hiking and walking), and anything else specified for your specific adventure. |
What are we responsible for?
You are responsible for your transportation to the event and during the event. In some cases you will be supplied food, but you should be prepared to spend a little money on food. |
How many people can be on a team?
Although the perfect team consists of two people (in most adventures), we can approve more. You probably don't want to go with more than four per team. If you do have four people, you may want to have two teams. This would greatly enhance your experience. |
Is it safe?
Yes. You must be adventurous because you never know if you'll be running, hiking, biking, boating, spying, etc., but you won't be put in harms way. You'll be in a controlled environment. |
What if I'm shy? Will I be acting?
You are not acting at all. You will be interacting with people, but you are just being yourself. For instance, you might be told to pick up a package from a man in an orange baseball cap at the corner of blank and blank. There is no need to act. Just go do it. :-) Your job is to react and enjoy. Our job is to make it fun. So no acting skills or experience are needed on your part. |
What is the age limit?
18 or older is recommended. However, we will consider younger players if a parent/guardian is participating in the adventure. Parents may want to involve their teenagers in the adventure - and this is the most likely reason we would approve a younger player. |
